Rosewood, São Paulo

Rosewood São Paulo is a thoughtfully curated creative mecca in the heart of the vibrant & dynamic city. We loved being a part of the opening of this new property, working closely with the Rosewood team on the design and development of a wide collection of bespoke objects, accessories and amenities. We were always kept so inspired by the cultivation of history and respect of local culture, as well as the pioneering vision and innovation that was poured into this project.

Rosewood São Paulo breathed new life into the heart of Brazil's bustling business centre. Mirroring the energy and heritage of the country, Rosewood São Paulo is an urban oasis located in Cidade Matarazzo, a complex of elegantly preserved buildings from the early 20th century. Spearheaded by entrepreneur Alexandre Allard, the iconic property has a striking new vertical garden tower designed by Jean Nouvel, while rooms have been designed by the legendary Philippe Starck.

LOCATION

São Paulo, Brazil

Rosewood São Paulo occupies one of the area’s few remaining historical landmarks; the 160 guest rooms and 100 residences are spread across the fully restored former maternity hospital known as Condessa Filomena Matarazzo Maternity. The complex also encompass the Chapel of Santa Luzia, another historic building that has been meticulously restored to retain its ornate architecture from 1922. Staying true to their brand's philosophy of maintaining 'A Sense of Place' wherever they are, Rosewood São Paulo's permanent collection of art consists of over 450 works by 57 contemporary Brazilian artists, all showcased thoughtfully throughout the hotel.

We worked closely with the Rosewood team to design and develop a complete collection of bespoke objects that align with the brand vision and reflect the most effective environmentally-friendly practices. We took into account the natural beauty of Brazilian wood and lush garden walls that were juxtaposed with the carefully restored Italian architectural elements. The design of each item, whether it is a bookmark or an umbrella, is a nuanced narrative, which comes together perfectly to create an ultimate guest experience.
